User-defined settings of MagiCAD

 

General

 
With this utility it is possible to change some settings that have been made by the installation.
 
You may prefer to change the default path/file settings, for example, if several users share the files that are stored in a network directory.
To modify the file/path settings, click the Browse button (=browse) button or type the path/filename directly to the field.
 
Click OK to accept your choices, Cancel to discard the selections.
 
 

Language/localization settings

 
When you click the combo box, a list of the available options is displayed. Select the most suitable configuration.
 
 
The Language selection changes the UI language of the program.
 
The Online product database location selection changes the website containing the up-to-date internet databases.
 
The User interface selection changes the type of the ribbons: new style (Modern) or the style used in earlier versions (Classic).
 
If MagiCAD is running, close AutoCAD and restart MagiCAD to make the new settings active.
 

General path settings

 
 
Common settings
 
MagiCAD program data: — Root directory of the .
 
Product databases: — This directory contains the manufacturers' databases. Please note that all paths are relative to MagiCAD program data directory.
 
For further modification of the paths, click the Advanced button.
 

Common and Room settings

 
 
Property set configurations in export functions: — This directory contains configuration files for IFC Export and Navisworks Export.
 
MagiCAD Room project templates: — After installation, the setting is the path where the project templates were initially installed. If the setting is a path, MagiCAD prompts you to select the template file when you create a new project. If you browse a project template file (.mrd), the file will be suggested automatically when you create a new project.

User symbols: — The directory that contains the user-defined symbols.
 
2D symbols: — The directory that contains the 2D symbols.
 
Export configurations: — The configuration file for MagiCAD Export.
 

MagiCAD Electrical and MagiCAD Circuit Designer settings

 

Project templates: — After installation, the setting is the path where the project templates were initially installed. If the setting is a path, MagiCAD prompts you to select the template file when you create a new project. If you browse a project template file (.mep), the file will be suggested automatically when you create a new project.
 
2D symbols: — The directory that contains the 2D symbol libraries.
 
3D symbols: — The directory that contains the 3D blocks.
 
User symbols: — The directory that contains the user-defined symbols.
